Custom Pre-Roll Display Boxes Built Around Your Retail Layout

Bring your individually packaged pre-roll range together in a branded display sized for the products and the space they occupy. Green Custom Boxes manufactures custom boxes with tailored dimensions and printing, so your display can coordinate with your retail packs rather than compete with them.

Start with what the box will hold: finished tubes, individual cartons or multipacks. Then define the number of units, their arrangement and the counter or shelf footprint. This is empty display packaging; pre-rolls and individual containers are not included.

Size the Display Around Finished Packs

A pre-roll's fill weight does not establish its display dimensions. Measure the complete retail unit, including caps, labels, sleeves and any projecting edges. For a mixed range, provide measurements for each pack rather than assuming every variant will occupy the same space.

  • Individual pack dimensions: supply length, width and depth, or overall height and maximum diameter for a tube, with measurement units.
  • Target capacity: state how many retail units belong in each display and whether variants share a box.
  • Arrangement: describe the preferred facing direction, rows and access point.
  • Placement limits: include maximum counter width, shelf depth and clearance above the assembled display.

Distinguish usable internal space from the assembled external footprint. Allow room to remove a unit without catching its label or disturbing the neighboring packs. Where several pack sizes share one display, identify the largest unit and the smallest one that must remain easy to reach.

Plan for Access as the Display Empties

A full display is only one stage of retail use. Consider how the arrangement will look when the front row is gone, how staff will refill it and whether product names remain visible at a lower stock level. A compact footprint is useful only if it still leaves enough access for normal handling.

Describe whether staff serve products from behind the counter or shoppers select them directly. That changes which panels need to face outward and where access is needed. If separate sections, a raised branding panel or a particular display structure are important, include them in the brief for feasibility confirmation rather than treating them as standard features.

Keep Display Packaging Separate from Shipping Requirements

Tell us whether displays will be assembled at the store or need to arrive loaded. A presentation box should not be assumed suitable as a transit shipper. If delivery protection or conversion from a closed box into an open display is required, identify that as a separate structural requirement for assessment.

Make the Print Work with the Packs Inside

Use the visible display panels to establish brand recognition, then let the individual packs carry their variant details. A clear logo, a short range name and consistent colors can create a coordinated presentation without filling every panel with competing information.

Plan artwork around the loaded display, not just the empty box. Packs may cover lower graphics, and a front wall may obscure the bottom of individual labels. Identify the surfaces that remain visible from the intended viewing angle before placing important text.

For multiple SKUs, specify whether the display artwork stays common across the range or changes with each variant. Keep retailer-added labels and any required product information in mind when reserving print space. Obtain a confirmed dieline before finalizing artwork placement, and ask which proof or sample options are available for the order.

Discuss Materials and Finishes Against the Job

Material choice needs to account for the loaded weight, box footprint and expected handling. If you prefer a paperboard or kraft appearance, send that preference alongside the actual pack specification. Ask about the suitability of the stock and any requested matte or gloss treatment for the proposed construction.

Specific materials, board thicknesses, finishes, partitions and other add-ons are subject to product and order confirmation. An open retail display does not establish child resistance, tamper evidence, odor protection or legal compliance; assess the individual product packaging and applicable market requirements separately.

If you are developing the individual pack as well, explore pre-roll packaging. For a cone-focused packaging project, see pre-roll cone packaging and include the finished pack measurements in the display brief.

Bring Your Display Specification Together

Request a quote from Green Custom Boxes with your finished pack measurements, target capacity, retail footprint, artwork and display quantity. Separate the number of displays from the number of products each one holds, and list quantities per artwork version. Add your required delivery date and any structural or finishing requests so availability, production timing and order terms can be confirmed against a clear specification.
